inspirations for forms

I got a crit from Jean Pierre Hebert
Interesting thing was that he is a really traditional side of an artist. He prefers things to go slow down, and let us think. Even with interactive works.

Liubo actually gave me some good inspirations for the generative images.

My thesis concept

I just was not sure whether my thesis concept was strong enough. I just felt the connection between the interface, result, interaction, all together was not obvious enough.

Liubo rent me the book "The book of Imaginary Beings" by Jorge Luis Borges.

From this, I got the idea that I can mix up mythology, subconsciousness, surrealistic imaginative world with digital media.

Let's start up!

Post Modern

It might sound irrelevant with my thesis, but I love Hudson Hotel Bar in Columbus Circle.
I think it is cool and also postmodern. All different kind of design styles merged together, sometimes, remaking a designed object inspired from an existing artwork, absurd but interesting environment is created. Escalator by Philip Stark, the floor and the ceiling upside-down, by floor shinning light, chandelier designed by Ingo Marue, showing holographic light images within a real chandelier holder, but actually not having any functional light, reminds me of "This is not a pipe" by Rene Margrit, a goat head in the wall reminds me of Robert Rausengberg, and all different style chairs mixed up (Wooden Chair by Droog Design, Plastic chair "le chaise" by the Eames, etc.... Everything is sooo cool.

I think somewhere between absurd and making sense, all mixed up together is fun and cool in some extent, creating a tension.

Or maybe it is just my happiness.
